Course Information

  • The CPO® certification program requires participation in either a two-day class (14-16 hours) taught by a certified instructor.

  • The CPO® certification program includes pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment, and government requirements

  • The CPO® certification program requires an open book written examination

  • The CPO® certification is valid for five years

The National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) was established in 1964 to serve the public through research and education. It is the leader for improvements in Pool and Spa safety, operation and management. Recognizing the need for trained operators to manage public and commercial facilities in 1974 NSPF developed the Certified Pool/Spa Operator course.It is widely acceptedby state, national and international health officials.
